Questions
Does it check how anonymous a proxy is?
Yes. Elite proxies add nothing that gives them away; anonymous ones say they are a proxy (a Via header, for example); transparent ones pass the original address on in X-Forwarded-For or a similar header. We check with a plain HTTP request, as a proxy can’t add headers to encrypted traffic.
Why is my proxy slow?
Distance, load and bandwidth limits all add delay. Try one closer to you or the site you need.
Is it safe to use free proxies?
Be careful — a proxy can see and change unencrypted traffic. Only use ones you trust.
