EAN-13 and UPC-A
Retail products. The numbers come from GS1 — you can’t make them up for goods sold in shops.

Older systems, ID badges and some industries. Letters, digits and a few symbols.
ITF-14

Questions
Why is my value invalid?
Each format accepts only certain characters and lengths — EAN-13 needs 12 or 13 digits, Code 128 C an even number of digits. The hint under the format list says what it takes.
Is the check digit added for me?
Yes, for EAN, UPC and ITF-14 when you leave it off. If you include it, it has to be correct.
Can I get a real product barcode here?
You can draw one, but the number itself has to be licensed from GS1 for products sold in shops.
What size should I print?
Keep the bars at least 0.33 mm wide for most scanners, and leave clear space on both sides. Use SVG for sharp printing.
